Most checkup packages are completed in a single morning, and almost all of the preparation happens before you arrive. This is the short list that matters.

Fasting

Fast for 8–12 hours before your appointment — water is fine and encouraged. Blood tests, abdominal ultrasound and any endoscopy require an empty stomach. Skip coffee, tea, juice and chewing gum on the morning of the checkup.

Medication

  • Blood pressure and heart medication: take as usual with a small sip of water.
  • Diabetes medication or insulin: do not take on the morning of a fasting checkup — confirm the plan with your coordinator first.
  • Blood thinners / anticoagulants: tell your coordinator in advance, especially before any endoscopy.
  • Supplements and vitamins: pause for 3 days beforehand unless your physician advises otherwise.

The Day Before

Avoid alcohol, heavy or greasy meals and strenuous exercise — all three can distort liver enzymes, lipids and blood pressure readings.

What to Wear and Bring

  • Loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to change out of.
  • Avoid metal buttons, zips and jewellery on imaging days; leave valuables at the hotel.
  • Passport, and any previous reports, scans or CDs.
  • A written list of your current medications and doses.
  • Insurance details, if you plan to claim.

If You Are a Woman

  • Schedule around your period — cervical screening and urine tests are best done mid-cycle.
  • Tell us if you are, or may be, pregnant: X-ray and CT examinations are avoided.
  • Pelvic ultrasound may need a full bladder or an empty one depending on the route — your coordinator confirms which.

Endoscopy Packages

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy need a bowel-preparation routine that starts the day before. We send a written schedule and a fasting deadline once your appointment is confirmed — follow it exactly, or the examination may need to be repeated.

On the Day

Arrive 15–30 minutes early to register and meet your interpreter. Bring your fasting state, your documents and your questions — the physician review at the end is your best chance to ask them.

Two-day programs: VIP tiers at Chongqing Hygeia and Guangzhou Concord are split across two days. The fasting rules apply to the morning of each day separately; we send a per-day schedule.
